Today was the first day of school. The boys were excited about certain things.....but not about homework! I took the boys to school this morning - like I always do on the first day. However, there was an agreement that if Mom could get cooperation for pics at home and in front of school building, then she wouldn't have to take anyone to their classroom. This was a little sad for me! I wanted to see that they were settled in their desks! But that's what happens when they grow up! Hunter moved to a new building this year! I think I was more nervous than he was! Hunter is in 4th grade and Ashton is in second grade. We have been very busy with football practice the last two weeks. Hunter is in Pee-wee league and Ashton is in the Might Mites league. They are loving football. School comes first though! Ashton will be joining Cub Scouts soon. Bill is doing well in Africa. The 3 of us are counting down the days till September 17th. Ready to be a "complete" family again. We will keep busy to make the time go quickly!

Wow what a day! I feel like I have done nothing but go back and forth to Phoenix for the last month! The boys did arrive in Phoenix today! I was so excited for them to come home. Home sweet home! They did many activities with their Grandparents....such as going to the beach for the day, building new lego sets, riding in Grandad's Dodge Challenger (we will not mention how fast they went!!!), bowling, theatre production of The Sound of Music, and many many more things. The most important I think though was the bonding that took place between my kind and generous parents and my two boys. When we came home, I was making sure that the doors were secure and Hunter asked me "Mom, did you turn the alarm on?" And later Ashton said, "I like to snuggle with you because it keeps me warm." I would like to think that they missed their mom and taking care of her as much as she missed taking care of them.

It has been a very nice weekend. On Saturday I went to the pool with 3 of my friends (Mandy, Jodi, and Jessi) and baked in the sun! We reserved the pool for 2 hours and enjoyed listening to music and chatting. I didn't leave the pool till almost 4:30. I am going to miss the pool days when summer ends. Today the boys were supposed to fly into Phoenix from NC, but Dad made a mistake - let's just say that he needs to remember that flight number and the time are not the same! Luckily I had only gone to Geronimo......not Globe or Phoenix. So it has been a very quiet Sunday at my home today. I am ready for the boys to come home and wrap their arms around me. I have missed them so much. I didn't realize with Bill being gone, just how much I relied on them.
